What BISP Kafaalat Is

The Benazir Income Support Programme, started in 2008, is a federal programme that gives unconditional cash transfers to poor and deserving families. Its main component, Benazir Kafaalat, pays eligible women every quarter. Related programmes include education stipends for children and nutrition support for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Who Is Eligible

Eligibility is not decided by a form you fill in today. It rests on the National Socio-Economic Registry survey, which gives each household a poverty score based on living conditions rather than on a stated income. Reporting on the programme describes these general points:

A household that falls below the programme poverty score

How Payments Are Collected

BISP has moved from plain cash payments to digital channels. In recent cycles, payments were announced in phases across districts, with collection through biometric ATMs, bank branches, authorised agents or camps, and mobile wallets. Reporting from May 2026 said women whose wallet accounts were blocked or not yet updated could collect from an authorised camp or agent in their district, and that centres were told to ask for the original CNIC. Collection points and banks can change from one cycle to the next, so use the location named in your official SMS.

Step by Step on Payment Day

Send your CNIC to 8171 and wait for the official reply that your payment has been released.
Do not go to a payment point before that message arrives, because the money may not be available yet.
Take your original, unexpired CNIC and the mobile number registered with it.
Collect only from the authorised point named in your message, and use biometric verification where it is offered.
Count the full amount before leaving, and keep any receipt or SMS confirmation.

If Your Payment Is Blocked or Missing

Common reasons include an expired CNIC, a mobile number not matching NADRA records, a wallet that needs updating, or a change in household survey data. Start by checking your status on 8171. If it shows eligible but unpaid, visit your Tehsil BISP office with your original CNIC. Expired CNIC holders should renew first, since payments depend on valid identity records.

Fraud Warnings

BISP has told beneficiaries not to pay any extra fee or deduction to agents when collecting payments.
No BISP official will call asking for a fee to release your instalment.
Do not share your CNIC photo, wallet PIN or OTP on WhatsApp or in unknown apps.
